This is, in my opinion, one of the best written comedies of all time. Steve Martin plays a Ed Wood type of filmmaker who dreams of someday becoming a big time Hollywood director. Instead, however, he makes shoestring budget pieces of shit that no one ever sees. One day he concocts the idea of making a movie starring Kit Kincaid (Eddie Murphy), who is the biggest movie star in the world. As there is no chance in hell that he will get Kincaid to star in his movie, Martin decides to shoot him secretly and insert those shots into the movie to make it look like he is really playing in the movie. In this scene, Martin has hired an actor who looks exactly like Kit Kincaid (also played by Eddie Murphy) and he’s trying to convince him to run across a busy L.A. freeway.
