This is a very slow month so it took me awhile to get through all the garbage being released to find a few potentially noteworthy films to watch.

A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III (A24 Studios) – Release Date: Opens in Limited Release February 8

All I really care about for this film is that it is written and directed by Roman Coppola, who co-wrote Moonrise Kingdom, it stars Charlie Sheen, Jason Schwartzman, and Bill Murray, and it has a great red-band teaser trailer. I have no idea what the film is about other than its set in L.A. and its about love, friendship, revenge, blah blah blah. Here’s a trailer, which does a far better job selling this quirky film than I just did.

The Gatekeepers (Sony Pictures Classics) – Release Date: February 1 in New York and L.A.

Unless your city has art house theaters that get a lot of indie films, I don’t know if this film will actually make it to your local movie theater. However, it looks absolutely riveting. Apparently for the first time ever, six former heads of Israel’s domestic secret service agency (Shin Bet) talk about their experience running the agency. Trailer is below:
